Hello, I'm Jeannie Shipley. I have a wealth of experience in education. I have worked here at South Pemiscot for 24 years. I started working with special education students. In 2021, I changed to serve 504 students. I have also tutored both privately and in a group setting for the majority of the time that I have been here at South Pemiscot. I'm excited to say that I have recently received my sub certificate through DESE.
I am a graduate of South Pemiscot. I met my husband, Wesley, when I was in the ninth grade. We have been married 32 years. We have two children, Taz and Sky, that both graduated from South Pemiscot as well. Taz has gone on to marry and has given me a granddaughter. At the present time, Sky is completing her college degree. I have two nephews which I hold very dear to me, and they have blessed me with three great nephews. I enjoy spending time playing with each of them!
Wesley and I are making the most of this exciting chapter in our lives exploring curvy and hilly roads on the trike or in one of the small Miatas. We are definitely sitting on go to grab the next adventure by the tail. We are members of Sanford Church of Christ. I always look forward to church camp. I also try to live my life in a way that people can see Christ in me.
I truly love my job. I pray that I'm able to make a difference to each child that I connect with whether it be a smile to brighten their day or a little tidbit to help them remember or learn a new skill. My hope is that each child knows that they are loved and someone feels they are important enough to listen to. I also want each child to know it's not important how smart they are but instead how are they smart. We each have different strengths. They also should understand that it's not about being better than your friend, but it's about being better than you were the day before. Thank you for taking a moment to learn a little about me.
