Hi, my name is Ben Nelson and I am the South Pemiscot Elementary Principal. I am from Sikeston, Mo and I graduated from high school there in 2001. After high school, I attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo where I received my Bachelor's degree in Physical Education in 2006. I have since gone on to get my Masters degree in Educational Administration in 2012 from William Woods University in Fulton, Mo and then received my Education Specialist degree, also from William Woods in 2016.
This is my 15th year in public education, and my 11th year at South Pemiscot! I began teaching Elementary PE and coaching high school baseball here in 2011. I then went on to be the Athletic Director in 2013, and then was hired as the Assistant Principal for grades 7-12 in 2014. I most recently became the Elementary principal in the summer of 2019.
I am married to Tiffany Nelson and we have 4 children together, Emaelee, who is 13 years old, Dutch who is 6 years old, and 2 year old boy/girl twins named Cotton and Annellen! I love to hunt, fish, and I am a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan! I absolutely love my job at South Pemiscot, love our students, and love the people I get to work with everyday! I can't wait for another great year this year!
I hope to see you out and about and supporting our Bulldogs!
